User Interface (UI) Web Developer
The UI Web Developer is passionate about building rich and innovative online experiences. He/she will work collaboratively with software engineers, program managers, UI designers, and quality assurance engineers, focusing on building new features and functionality in the emerging online collaboration sector. The UI Developer must have a strong sense of user-friendly design and is aware of the latest industry trends and standards.
The ideal candidate is a change-agile, motivated self-starter who has the ability to work collaboratively in a close team environment, has the ability to manage his or her own projects and work independently with minimal supervision, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-productivity environment.
Responsibilities
Designing and building scalable web-based applications, prototypes, and ‘go-live’ features.
Participating in developing use cases, feature requirements and prioritization.
Act as a subject matter expert on building and scripting capabilities and limitations, contributing this expertise throughout the company as needed.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure all consumer facing features and designs are on spec, easy to use, bug free, scalable, and documented.
Contribute to task identification, work estimates, and schedules for development related activities.
Work with other internal department members to assist with requirements definition and web development needs.
Contribute to recommendations on how the company can best leverage web and other related technologies.

Skills & Experience
B.A. /B.S. degree in computer science, technical writing, or related field.
2 – 3 years of experience in front-end web development with emphasis in building consumer products.
Demonstrated proficiency with JavaScript, CSS, JSP, and XML is required. Ability to write code from scratch as well as interpret and modify the code of others is also required.
Ability to turn creative designs/layouts into finished product – strong sense of user-friendly interface design.
Knowledge of J2EE technologies, Tomcat, Hibernate, and Struts2 a plus.
Strong understanding of current web browser rendering differences and standards.
Solid familiarity with latest design and development software, and other industry standards/trends.
This individual has built highly dynamic, interactive interfaces for web sites that have broad consumer appeal. He/she has a strong background in CSS, Javascript, AJAX, JSON, (X)HTML and DHTML, and extensive experience with cross-browser compatibility issues and degradation strategies. Also, experience with DHTML APIs such as jQuery, Prototype, script.aculo.us and MooTools are a plus.

- Work with project managers, software engineers and end-users to build the optimal user experience.
-Author complex user interfaces using such interface technologies as AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, (X)HTML, and XML

-2 to 3 years of experience developing dynamic, highly interactive user interfaces for web applications.
-2 to 3 years of experience with DTHML, and standards compliant semantic (X)HTML, and CSS.
-Experience with cross-platform, cross-browser strategies.
-Experience using a source control system such as CVS, VSS, or Subversion.
-Experience with jQuery and UI toolkits such as Prototype, script.aculo.us, YUI.
